The Slow Readers Club

The Slow Readers Club

Sometimes the universe just gives you a gift. Sometimes the planets align. Sometimes you’re just in the right place at the right time.

I have liked TSRC for about 10 years but figured that I’d never see them live. Living in Australia has many advantages but being near the home of TSRC is not one of them. The chances of seeing a gig was pretty low.

When I found out that I was going to be in London for a family holiday at the same time that TSRC were going to play a gig it felt like all my Christmases had come at once.

Honestly they were great. Given that they were supporting Gene I knew they were only going to play a short set but it really was perfect. I felt every note. I sang along to every word.

After the gig I met the merch guy (I didn’t catch his name - but he was a great ambassador for the band!) and bought t shirt. He seemed genuinely excited to know that I had come from Australia to see the band. What a great way to finish off the night.

Do I wish they played longer? Of course. Were there more songs that I wish I had heard? No doubt. But I just felt so grateful to see them live. I couldn’t be happier!

And you never know what might happen in the future … maybe I can dream that the planets will align again in the future.
